We are delighted to offer a selection of images from Coloured Figures of the Eggs of British Birds by Henry Seebohm, published in 1896. Without doubt this work contains some of the finest groupings of bird’s eggs found in natural history illustration, showing birds eggs in all their intricate detail and varied shapes.  Seebohm was born in Bradford, Yorkshire in 1832. He began his studies of biology in the botanical realm, making a collection of British Ferns. However, his true passion was ornithology and after traveling abroad for a number of years studying various bird species & collecting their eggs he began his work as an illustrator.  The 5x7 card is blank inside and comes with an accompanying envelope - shipping is free.
