Thomas Greene: Rosy-faced Lovebirds - WTG 022

$5.99

Parrots in Captivity is a three-part book series that was published between 1884 and 1887 and was intended as a guide for the keeping of parrots, macaws, cockatoos, lories, parakeets and lovebirds.  It was written by William Thomas Greene, with notes by F.G. Dutton. The author produced multiple books on bird-keeping, but this one is our absolute favorite due to the beautiful illustrative plates by Benjamin Fawcett.  Fawcett had just developed a technique of color printing using wood blocks and it was known as chromoxylography. We offer a good selection of images from this work.  The 5x7 card is blank inside and comes with an accompanying envelope - shipping is free.
